You are cordially invited to join us for the opening of Temporal Cartography three weeks from tomorrow.
The show is a collaboration between artist Tom Dawson and myself as we survey the changes happening to Durham, and contemplate the transient nature of cities.
The installation includes a timelapse of downtown Durham that compresses three years of construction into a single day; an ever-shifting model city you can walk through; the Futurescope, a sculptural time machine that presents deep histories and projects future urban scenarios; an exploration of ghost streets; and visions of Durham's past, present and future.
There'll be an opening reception at the Durham Art Guild on Friday, June 15, 6-8pm, and a half-dozen other events throughout July and August. Escape the heat of the city street and join us in the future.
